When the change lands on the leader first

Some transitions land on one person first: a new leader stepping in, a restructuring, a team that’s already absorbed a lot before this latest change arrives. The person leading through it is usually carrying it personally while also having to hold steady for everyone watching them.

This work starts with the leader, not the team:

  1. A planning conversation. Just the leader, to get clear on what this transition actually requires of them, what the team can realistically take on right now, and where they want the team standing a year from now.

  2. An individual session for the leader. Dedicated coaching space, shaped by what came out of the planning conversation.

  3. A facilitated team session. Built for that team specifically, informed by everything above, not a standard workshop.

  4. A debrief. Talking through what came up in the team session, deciding on next steps, and thinking through what sustaining the change looks like going forward.

That’s the shape this has actually run in. Depending on what comes up, tools like DiSC or an Energy Leadership Index assessment may come into it, used when they fit the specific situation, not applied by default.

If what’s needed turns out to be ongoing personal leadership coaching rather than support tied to this specific transition, that’s a separate conversation. This engagement stays scoped to the change at hand.

Leadership Training & Program Design

Choose a facilitator or a public speaker to create inspiring life plans for personal development, or partner with us to strengthen a conference you already run.

As a program design partner, Empowergize U develops a program around career coaching and the visual life planning concept: creating the outline for a single workshop or a series, designing a structure that enhances personal development, and providing the communications to market it.

Frequently asked questions

What consulting services does Empowergize U provide?

No fixed catalogue. Engagements are built around what your organization needs, from a leader-and-team change engagement to facilitated workshops, cohort programs, and speaker topics.

How is this different from career coaching?

Career coaching works with an individual navigating their own transition. This, and the rest of what's on this page, is for a leader and their team, or an organization, navigating change together.

How do organizations get started?

A complimentary 30-minute discovery session to talk through what your organization needs. Not something to guess at from a page.

Do you work with the whole team, or just the leader?

Both, usually. We start with the leader, then bring the team in once there's clarity on what they need.
